Columbia, MO / Public Services / Part Time

DEPARTMENT: Public Services - Children's Team 

 

HOURS/DAYS:  This position is year-round. Applicants must be available for posted hours year-round

Part-time hours scheduled Monday- Thursday with one evening shift a week, 4-5 Sundays per year, and the expectation of Saturday events when needed, not to exceed 2 per month. Please see application for more details. 

           

DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIESAssigned to Children’s Team:

Provides readers advisory, information, user instruction, computer and programming services to the public.  May plan and present programs for children and families; including hosting performers and workshops.  Will provide services on Bookmobile Junior and at external library events.

High school diploma/or equivalent and 48 hours college credit and at least one year customer service related experience; previous library experience preferred.  Must have valid driver’s license.  Class E license is required (or completed within 2 weeks of employment. It is a written test.) Employees in this position will be required to drive the small bookmobile and library sprinter van throughout DBRL's two-county service area (Boone & Callaway).

HOURLY SALARY: $13.59 per hour

Position A Hours: Part-time (average of 20 hours per week)
Monday 8am-1pm, Tuesday 4pm-9pm, Wednesday 8am-1pm, Thursday 8am-1pm, 4-5 Sundays (12:45pm-5:15pm) per year, and the expectation of Saturday events when needed, not to exceed 2 per month.

Position B Hours: Part-time (average of 30 hours per week)
Monday 8am-5pm, Tuesday 8am-2pm, Wednesday 12pm-9pm, Thursday 8am-5pm, 4-5 Sundays (12:45pm-5:15pm) per year, and the expectation of Saturday events when needed, not to exceed 2 per month.*
